Assembly instructions from CAD data

Your 3D models become step-by-step assembly instructions: exploded views with item numbers, assembly steps and a parts list for each step – created by our technical writer.

Assembly instructions show which parts belong together and in which order. We create them directly from the CAD data: exploded views make every assembly easy to understand, item numbers link picture and parts list, and each assembly step shows exactly the parts it needs. On request we add renderings and animations of the assembly steps, for example with Keyshot, and the finished instructions are also available in other languages.

For partly completed machinery – such as an assembly that is only incorporated into a machine or plant at the customer’s site – assembly instructions and a declaration of incorporation are mandatory: under Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (Annex VI and Annex II, Part 1, Section B) and under Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, which applies from 20 January 2027 (Annex XI; there, the declaration of incorporation according to Annex V, Part B is part of the assembly instructions). We create the assembly instructions and prepare the declaration of incorporation for signature.

Scope of services

Assembly instructions from CAD data

Exploded views, assembly steps and a parts list for each step – straight from your 3D models.

Partly completed machinery

Assembly instructions in accordance with the Machinery Directive and Machinery Regulation, plus the declaration of incorporation – prepared for signature.

Exploded views

Every assembly pulled apart, every part with an item number – picture and parts list match.

Renderings & animations

Photorealistic images and animations of the assembly steps, for example with Keyshot.

Translations

The finished assembly instructions in other languages on request.

Part of the technical documentation

Assembly instructions, operating instructions and risk assessment from a single source – created with WEKA Manager CE.

How we work

Frequently asked questions

What is partly completed machinery?

An assembly which is almost machinery but which cannot in itself perform a specific application – for example a drive system or an assembly that is only incorporated into a machine or plant later. Instead of operating instructions and a declaration of conformity, it comes with assembly instructions and a declaration of incorporation.

Which documents do you need from us?

3D models and parts lists of the assembly, and drawings and existing instructions if available. This also applies to designs that were not created by us.

How do assembly and operating instructions differ?

Assembly instructions describe how an assembly or machine is put together and incorporated; operating instructions describe safe operation through to maintenance and disposal. For complete machinery, the assembly information is part of the operating instructions; for partly completed machinery, the assembly instructions are a separate document.
